Post completion

We offer full end to end interior design services which includes post completion maintenance. Having embarked on a long fruitful journey of having a refurbishment or renovation project complete, we understand the importance of post completion support. Meaning, we can support with post completion alterations which is part of the complete service. This will leave you at ease that once the project is complete, we are still on hand after the project has completed.

At SP3 London, our interior design aftercare service is an extension of the same commitment to quality and detail that defines our work throughout the project lifecycle. We do not consider our responsibility complete at handover, we consider it complete when you are fully settled and satisfied in your finished space.

Why post completion support matters for high end interiors

High end residential and hospitality interiors involve a level of bespoke specification, custom craftsmanship and integrated technology that is simply not present in standard refurbishment projects. This complexity does not stop mattering at practical completion.

Custom joinery may require adjustment as materials settle. Specialist finishes may need attention. Smart home systems and integrated electronics need to be operated, maintained and occasionally reconfigured. Artwork sourced for a specific space may need repositioning or additional pieces may be required as the client’s collection develops.

Without a dedicated post completion service, clients of high end interior design projects are often left managing these issues without the benefit of the design and technical knowledge that produced them in the first place. Our aftercare service ensures that knowledge remains available to you.

This service works most effectively when we have been involved in your project from the outset. For clients who have worked with us across residential design management, FF&E procurement or a turnkey service, we carry full knowledge of every specification, supplier and bespoke element within your home, making post completion support significantly more efficient and reliable.

Defect inspection and timely rectifications

Once projects are complete there can be occasions when particular issues arise. Post project completion means we’re still on-hand to resolve these issues for you. We ensure that defective rectifications are resolved in a timely manner.

During the defect liability period, we act as the client’s representative in managing defect notifications, coordinating contractor return visits and ensuring that remedial works are carried out to the same standard as the original installation.

We review defects systematically, logging issues, agreeing timescales for resolution with the relevant trades and following up to confirm completion. This structured approach ensures nothing is missed and that the client is never left chasing contractors directly for rectification work.

Bespoke as-built drawings and smart electronic manuals

High-end interior design can result in custom built designs and integrated smart electronics which are not off the shelf. We make sure all essential documentation and manuals for any bespoke designs installed across our projects are available along with the manuals for installed smart electronics.

As-built drawings are a critical part of the post completion handover, particularly for bespoke joinery, integrated cabinetry and specialist mechanical or electrical installations. We ensure these documents are organised, clearly labelled and provided to the client in a format that is genuinely usable should future works be carried out by others.

For projects incorporating smart home technology, we coordinate the provision of system documentation, commissioning reports and user guides, ensuring the client and their household can operate every element of the finished home with full confidence.

Full FF&E management and installation

As we support you in sourcing and installing furniture, fixtures and equipment, we are on hand for continuous full management of your FF&E. This service does not need to stop upon project completion. We are on hand to provide any additional furniture, fixtures and equipment as required.

Client requirements evolve after a project completes. A new room may need furnishing. An additional guest space may require equipping. Seasonal changes may prompt the desire for updated soft furnishings or accessories. Our ongoing FF&E service means you have access to our supplier network, procurement expertise and design eye beyond the initial project completion.

We handle the full procurement and installation process for any post completion FF&E requirements, maintaining the same standards and aesthetic consistency as the original project. Find out more about our FF&E design and procurement service.

Artworks and other aesthetic recommendations

We have longstanding relationships with suppliers and specialists and we are able to continue to offer advice and help source artwork for your project. We can be your trusted advisor as you look for artwork and other aesthetics.

Artwork is often one of the last elements to be finalised in a high end interior, and collections frequently continue to develop long after the rest of the project is complete. Our FF&E dressing expertise means we can advise on placement, scale, framing and the relationship between new acquisitions and the existing interior scheme, ensuring each addition enhances rather than disrupts the overall design.

We can also advise on the sourcing of bespoke accessories, lighting updates and soft furnishing additions that complement the original design as your home evolves over time.

Prompt attendance to additional after-sales works.

We understand post completion maintenance is extremely important. This is why we aim to respond promptly to any requests that may need to be looked into. In addition, we can continue to support you with after-sales work you may need support with.

After-sales works cover a broad range of activities, from minor repairs and adjustments to more substantial alterations as your requirements change. Whether it is a reconfiguration of a fitted element, an update to lighting or the addition of a new room to the scope of your interior scheme, we can advise on the best approach and manage delivery on your behalf.

Clients who would like to discuss a new phase of work or an extension to their current project are welcome to arrange an interior design consultation to explore their options. Alternatively, contact us directly and we will be happy to advise on the most appropriate way forward.
